Especially in recent years, pediatric dental therapies have made great strides, and the close collaboration between dentists specialized in pedodontics and orthodontists has become more organized. This allowed the creation of specific surgical practices for the young patient.<\/p>

Pediatric oral surgery, in fact, requires a multidisciplinary approach that considers not only the complexity of the psychological aspects, but also the pathologies in relation to the patient’s age and growth expectations. It also requires a good knowledge of the anatomy, in the mixed dentition phase, and of the most up-to-date surgical techniques, as well as the local anesthesia and sedation techniques most appropriate for the child’s age. This last aspect is very important since it allows you to intervene in an atraumatic way with non-pharmacological relaxation techniques, associated with delicate anesthesia, such as gingival anesthesia, and, if needed, with the integration of the nitrous oxide<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

The choice to extract a wisdom tooth is usually motivated by its malposition or the need to create space in the arch. Other times in conjunction with orthodontic treatment which requires moving the molars back. It is very common to carry out the so-called third molar germectomy, or wisdom tooth extraction, at an early stage to avoid the onset of significant problems later on.<\/p>

Even baby teeth, sometimes, require to be extracted to create the right space for the correct development of the mouth in the mixed dentition phase.
Other times is necessary to intervene when a deciduous tooth is too decayed to be treated or is fractured after a strong trauma.

In this case we intervene to extract a deciduous or permanent tooth, which can cause a variety of dental complications by interfering with normal functionality and oral health, as well as giving rise to aesthetic problems.<\/p>

In this case the pediatric surgeon uncovers the tooth from the gum when it does not erupt spontaneously (frequently the canines).<\/p>

Intervention on the gum tissues is sometimes necessary to allow the correct application of the brackets of an orthodontic device or to modify the shape of the gums and make the smile more harmonious.<\/p>
